Nick, I have not researched the issue but I know someone who heard about it. From what I hear there may be an arthritis gene that the vaccine triggers in 30% of the population. To me the difficult issue is the symptoms of the lymes disease seem similar to arthritis but I suppose there are differences. I would tell you friend to look carefully. I am surrounded by deer and ticks and I have not had the vaccine myself but after being in my woods i check for ticks and often find one - then i burn them it reminds me of my sadistic past -g-. mike
