OK...how about Credit? We run on Credit, which is 'virtual'.

Debt is 'actual'.

[there's more debt globally than there is equity...]

Gold has been replaced by 'Interest'.

I must dig up that book, 'The Death of Money'.

Oh, the Derivatives.

PS. I wasn't implying that debt was a good thing...but it is what makes the wheel turn. When the music stops, we know there ain't enough chairs for Everyone...that's why we have the InsuranceMedicalIndustrioFinancial Complex...

Tommaso -

[[Makes me think of my friend years ago who would point to the empty glass carburetor reservoir on his lawnmower motor and say, "Now it's running on fumes." Which it would do, for a minute or two. Then the fumes ran out and it stopped.]]

If he hadn't lost faith and looked at the carburetor and remarked on it, it could still be running. -g-

Or, he could say - "Just because the historical charts show that the grass height of a lawn has tended to crash when the G/S ratio (grass/snake) exceeds 4, that is no reason to say that we are not in a new era of global warming and residential jungles. -g-

Regards, Don

Tommaso:

I will shamelessly add that one to my list of excellent analogies for later use. Nor will I provide attribution to you or your friend. (kidding, of course)(G)
Best, Earlie
