My husband tells the story of his families living room and dining room growing up.....complete with it's cream colored (nearly white) carpeting and sofa's. He says to go though those rooms you had to hold your breath as to be sure you did not disturb anything!!

In our house now, we turned what would have been our "formal" living room into our everyday room.......and our den, is the "toy room" well....the computer is in the "toy room" also.

We do have a formal dining room.....but you must walk through it to get to the kitchen.....we have an older home.....built in the 20's.....at that time the dining room was always used by the "family" and the kitchen was part of the servants quarters....
