I'm not sure I agree entirely with Miss Seringer. I'd think a more complex device could raise a whole batch full of unique reliability issues that a more simplistic device wouldn't share. I'm also not sure diabetics need to such sophistication and physician monitoring. They've gotten by with needles and injection for nearly a century.
Alkermes bought a drug delivery firm, AIR, that touts among other things, the simplicity of its device. So simple and cheap to mfg they're considering disposable devices for certain high cost drugs.
FYI: I own shares of both ARDM and ALKS.
