Nice,

Outel adherents can only hope that AMD can't compete in the server and workstation markets as there is no more song to be sung should AMD successful scale these lucrative segments as well...

You can bet that Intel is going to try to kill the x86 server business as quickly as possible with Merced.

SpryGuy - Re: "Six months later, now that the PWeeIII is gasping in what might be its death throes owing to the strength of the young champion, the Athlon"

Death throes for the Pentium III ?

HARDLY !

Look what INDEPENDENT testers are NOW saying about the Not-So-Spry-AthWiper:

firingsquad.com

"This is the course we recommend for gamers interested in purchasing an Athlon CPU. Not shelling out nearly $1K for a product that is beginning to show signs of age. </b?"

SIgns of age for the AthWIPER ? A Six month old AthWIPER is showing signs of AGE !!!!!

That must be why AMD had to give the 800 MHz a Shot of Geritol - in the form of a Juiced Up Voltage Supply - just to GET to 800 MHz !

SIGNS OF AGE, SpryGuy !!!!

You read it here !
