I do not believe that at all... Do you suppose the apostles gave into social pressure even as Rome concerning X-Mass ???? The apostles met together on the Lord's Day... Jesus being the " LORD OF THE SABBATH " changed the day but not the commandment. Luke 6:5 And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. The act of Tithing is a part of the Worship of God and always has been since Melchesidek ordained it with Abraham. The new Testament Saints worshipped on Sunday the first day of the week the day of the resurrection fo Jesus from the dead! Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. Breaking bread ( Lord's Supper ) and Preaching are evidence of the Corporate Worship of God on His ordained Sabbath Rest. 1 Corinthians 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. As God has prospered = in relation to or 10% tithe not gifts. What Paul is stating is that if they are faithful to tithe during the corporate worship on the Lord's Day the FIRST DAY of the week then he will not need to take up an Offering as the tithes will be enough even as God has promised to bless the tithe if we are faithful. Do we love our wallet more than GOD ???? Do we love our restaurant and pleasures more than God ???? I do not belittle 7th day adventist for keeping saturday as the sabbath at least they keep the sabbath.. they only misunderstand the transitions that Jesus made. The Ten Commandments are not Ceremonial laws James they are MORAL LAWS and that is why they will never be changed because God does not change morally ever. The Sabbath was instituted before Adam fell...it has always been a part of EVERY COVENANT because it is MORAL and UNCHANGABLE!
