Paul <Thanks for the update.>

EDIT: You're welcome.

Since I am a little curious about the timing of Brandywines 7M share accumulation I will watch for their 4Q99 holdings summary. I too appreciate when fund managers pile on after the run-up.

Paul - RE: "I love these fund managers - jumping in after the stock has nearly tripled. Such foresight !

I hope they keep buying more - for another DOUBLE !

I will be financially grateful !"

Paul <I love these fund managers - jumping in after the stock has nearly tripled. Such foresight !>

Update on the new AMD institutional holder, as promised.

On Jan 12 Friess & Associates filed a 13G form with the SEC which noted their ownership of nearly 8M shares of AMD. The 4Q99 mutual fund reports are now available so I looked at their holdings.

As of 12/31/99:

Brandywine fund held 5.48M shares at average cost of $30.54 (3.0% of total fund) and Brandywine Blue fund held 0.41M shares at an average cost of $30.56 (3.0% of total fund).

From their quarterly fund reports to the 13G filing of the SEC form they acquired an additional 2M shares.

This fund manager did indeed join the AMD train after the stock had doubled on average. Of course, the report noted the value in these positions as of the end of the quarter was below cost.
