John,

<<Maybe some will disagree on this, but I don't necessarily envision our "assignments" as requiring that we argue in favor of Gorillas.>>

Ahhh, nobody 'splained it like that to me. Actually, they might have and I wasn't paying enough attention.

<<A good report on the SAN (NAS?) value chain, maybe from the viewpoint of Fibre Channel provider would be extremely valuable, imo.>>

So, we are talking about a report on a market segment (value chain) rather than a company? Would this then be followed by a company report or two since we probably won't find a mutual fund set up around a particular value chain? Would the purpose be to eliminate certain areas from further consideration? Do we want to evaluate mere Princes?

I'm interested in the exercise as a way to establish a Merlinesque understanding of the GG. Most arguments made so far have been in the Affirmative, but I suppose it could be turned around and make the thread at large argue why Company X is a Gorilla to counter the presentation of why it is not. I have a feeling I'm straying from the purpose of Project Hunt.
