IBM may throw cold water on any rally....

Investors Brace for IBM Report
7.10 p.m. ET (0010 GMT) January 17, 2000
(http://www.foxmarketwire.com/wires/0117/f_rt_0117_24.sml)
"... International Business Machines Corp. (IBM.N),the worst bitten among major computer makers by the Year 2000 computer bug, is set to post lower fourth-quarter earnings on Wednesday..."

============================================================

I hedged 1/3 of my SUNW holdings by selling the April 100 calls for $4 1/4.... Sun's earnings should be very good BUT the stock may be already pricing a good report.

Lot's of earnings to be released in the next 10 days.

Dear Sonki: When does IBM report? that pig of a company has been crying the blues for some time now. There earnings or lack thereof may create a short term buying opportunity. I am expecting SUNW and EMC two major IBM competitors to report outstanding earnings, CPQ may even surprise upside (that would be a surprise) and if IBM is first out market could drop and the others could then raise it.
