*With hundreds of projects already under contract with OpenAvenue we eagerly await its commencement.* from
starbase.com

these projects are not listed on the website.
*I was hoping SBAS would issue a press release soon to provide investors with some additional information.*

Project programers from OpenAvenue provide the technical expertise companies like IBM HP SUNW are currently looking for.
* I am jumping ahead and speculating on phase 2 of OA business plan, building community and sponsership.*

*per this 7/99 news release OpenAvenue plans to have 27 employees by the end of 1999. *

So are you saying OpenAvenue is a programming services consulting firm?

*My understanding is that OpenAvenue's web portal will act as a middle man between the programmers and the clients. Open source projects are a collaboration of a community of programmers who contribute and design the project for a client over the internet. The OpenAvenue portal will connect a worldwide group of programmers with a client like IBM. *

There are programmers who chose to live remotely in the mountains of Colorado and program and deliver linux source code for Caldera. The programming and delivery is done over the internet. Someone like Linus Tovalds Eric Raymond, or a company like OpenAvenue manages these projects.

My understanding of Open Source programming comes from these two books
Open Sources, voices from the Open Source Revolution

The Cathedral and the Bazaar

*If you read these two books you will get a better understanding for this community of software programmers, developers and users and how they operate. *

OpenAvenue plans to target their services to millions of professionals in the worldwide software and web development community, serving to facilitate the rapidly growing open-source community, with an Internet portal that will operate as a highly interactive meeting place. from
starbase.com

*I am assuming OA was paid to create and maintain the website for Xitami*

So far all I see is public relations. Where are the open source projects?

*You'll have to ask OpenAvenue CEO Paul Hessinger about the projects and other specific questions.*

Shouldn't they be on the OpenAvenue web page somewhere for download?

*Sure but OA is still in the phase one of their business development.*

*per the Kaufman report Appendix III page 30 - 32 of 36
OpenAvenue plans four phases of business development

1. To be complete by 3/31/2000. Build infrastructure, establish initial content and projects and conduct initial brand awareness marketing campaigns.
2. build community and sponsership.

Hope this helps
