***Socialism and women*** <If NZ is mostly run by women now, is it more socialist/communist than its been? I thought it was on its way back to a more individual/propertyrights/individual responsibility kick ten years ago, has it reversed that?
I'll be pleased and surprised if it isnt more socialist under females.

Freeus, you are neither surprised, nor pleased.

There were a few years [since 1984] of increasing privatisation of the economy, but a continued rapid escalation in the number of laws for people to contend with, all of which increased state control. I suppose that means we moved from communism to fascism.

People made the choice and the socialists won the election. We have got our first corpse, already buried, after she tried to stop a man driving through a picket line. She died just before Y2K and was buried in Y2K.

She was not even involved, but was supporting 'the struggle' against, presumably, evil capitalists or something or other. The wharfies wanted to take over the wharf owners' property by picketing them and preventing the company going about their lawful business.

Sadly, the Greens have had an early and tragic introduction to the effects of political power. They were grinning when they won. I bet they stopped grinning then.

It's not that women have made it socialist, but polls do show a preponderance of women support socialist policies and parties. I can't remember exactly how many, but I think it was something like 60% of women and 40% of men support socialist ideas. No more difference than that and maybe only 55:45.

Neither is NZ a 'kindler, gentler' country since women have been in charge. It is mayhem in the streets and homes [lucky we don't all have guns in our houses or we might exceed the USA kill rate - I laughed at the 'he's envious of the USA so criticizes the gun deaths' comment by somebody. What a joke!]

In fact, the women-run solo-mother households are a sociological disaster area. It really is a huge tragedy. Funded by the state! We will pay when the children of these hopeless parents are able to take 'revenge' on society. [We have been paying, but there is more to come].

It's amazing that people can't see that taking over other people and their property rights leads the victims to try to defend themselves.

Socialistically yours,
Mqurice

PS: Re Martin Luther King day, I'd have thought it was more of a freedom day and recognition of individuals day rather than groups. I suppose the 'affirmative action' racist laws came in later. By the way, did FCC's Kennard get his job because he met some ASTM colour test andmade the quotas right or because of ability? It must stink to have a job and people wonder if you got it because you are a woman or a really good colour but perhaps quite stupid - customers would shy away. Imagine a melanin-rich woman surgeon - people would worry that she didn't really have a clue but was pushed through to make the numbers.

I can see it might make it tougher to succeed with affirmative action because of 'you only got the job because of your gonads or melanin' effects.
