The last Church I attended had a membership of over 2000 people. They were very proud of their preacher and him and his wife had front row parking where they parked two new, identical Lincoln MarkVI cars. They had a beautiful brick home with all of the amenities. There were some things he preached that i knew were bad for the Church because he was a prosperity preacher. Every thing was about giving more than your tithe. I quit the Church shortly after he made the statement during services that he had computers that kept totals of everything that was given and he knew those of us that were not tithing. He made the very same statement that Chris made. He said that God did not appreciate our tithes because that was expected and that we should give over our tithes because that was when the blessings came in. That we should give until it hurt. Well, I knew that this man had been preaching in the flesh for a long time. Brian, I want to tell you how I feel in my heart and I believe that unknowingly, you are passing judgement on other Christian's on this thread. Romans 14 "4Who art thou that judgest another man?s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. 5One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. 7For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. 8For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord?s. 9For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. 10But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 13Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother?s way." Romans 16:5 "Likewise greet the Church that is in their house." As you can see, there are Churchs that are not in a big fancy building, with membership rolls to join and be insulted and to be made feel guilty by some snot that is in love with himself rather than his congregation. I don't care what Church you belong too, you have membership requirements, and many will make you be baptised into their faith even if you have already been baptised. This is not the Church of Christ, this is man made! Don't talk to me about being the least in the Kingdom of Heaven, Brian. Search your own motives and see how by your tongue, that you are in the flesh when you judge others. Where two or more are gathered, I am there amongst them. In brotherly love, James
