I agree with your assessment of ABX / NEM. I used to trade ABX as an XAU tracking stock, but switched to NEM more recently. As for gold in general, I believe this week is critical. Looking at a weekly chart of the XAU, we actually have a series of higher lows dating back to August 99. We are currently sitting right on that trendline. If we bounce off that line, short-term target of 71.5 on XAU (to fill gap on daily chart). Currently long, for now.
