Ish - there is no tax on selling a home. Its a freebie windfall, not like stock options which are taxed as income. Look, the problem is that the current group of recipients paid nothing into a system and wants a 10-bagger out. My age group is paying a 10-bagger in with nothing out. This is not fair, unless a case can be made that the windfall recipients are somehow much worse off than the gen-xers. They are not. I am not saying the gen-xers deserve your welfare, I am saying that you don't deserve theirs - thats all.
