CMGI PLACES FIRST B2B INVESTMENT

CMGI @Ventures contributed $8 million in a $10.5-million financing round for FoodBuy.com, its first
investment of its billion-dollar B2B fund. FoodBuy.com is focused on becoming the business portal for
the food-service industry, offering a wide variety of services to the $150-billion U.S. food-service
market. We believe CMGI's B2B fund could be one of the company's focus points for 2000. CMGI
could capitalize on its venture funding expertise, which has already helped build successful B2B
companies such as Chemdex, Silknet and BizBuyer.com. We believe we are only seeing the beginning
of CMGI's influence in the Internet community. This influence is important, in part, given the
increasingly competitive nature of the venture community-it is growing harder to get money into good
deals, highlighting the importance of having a widespread network of contacts and allies.
