A friend of mine in Houston is on GTE. He bought an 860 ThinPhone and he couldn't turn it off; they replaced it but he is now only getting one hour talk time. He said three of his friends have the same problem. He thinks Qualcomm phones are junk as a result.
Sounds to me like a whole shipment of bad batteries in the phones. Anyone heard anything like this, or is it isolated?

Also, he said PrimeCo does not appear to be doing well in Houston; it has lots of dead areas and is laying people off because of the merger. I remember something (I think) to the effect that because of the buyouts there are some GTE territories where there is overlap. is my memory correct. Comments?
