I did not want to start on this S and P 500 thing but i must. If the good people at Standard and Poors were planning to add another "value" type of company to the 500 when the next opening occured, i think this merger may have just changed their minds!!!!
Now, they may not have a choice but to add JDSU---it could be 100 billion very shortly. I think it would be unprecedented not to have such a huge company not in the index.
