Petz - Re: "Intel also spent big bucks on investments that did NOT pay off. How much did they sell their Chips & Technologies shares for? Zippo. What about the graphics chip company (can't remember name) or the company that made graphics boards bought from Lockheed Martin. This was money thrown in the toilet."

Why don't you TELL US ALL how much money AMD has lost on their K6-shooter project that they got from NexGEN after spending $650,000,000 on NexGEN ???

Let's see - AMD's losses for 1999 ALONE are in the neighborhood of $154,000,000 - AFter their Welfare Tax Breaks !! - so adding that to the $650,000,000 for NexGEN, we're looking at an $800,000,000 SHOT DOWN THE AMD RENTED TOILET in AMD's RENTED HEADQUARTERS !!!

Wow, PETZ !!!!

$800,000,000 THROWN AWAY - that was your money - as a shareholder !

Maybe you can ADD IN the 1996 and 1997 and 1998 LOSSES for me !

Paul

Petz

I am in the process of getting a new cpu for my pc....the 550 Athlon. I have several reasons for doing it but the two major ones is are to prevent my pc from posting that the pc resources are low, and to prevent my cursor from disappearing after a couple of hours of being on line.

A MSFT tech guy has said they are related and I tend to believe him 'cause whenever I shut off programs before I go online and increase my performance resources, the cursor stays up longer. However my tech person is not sure that the two problems are related...so I am trying to get a third opinion.

Would you or anyone else on the thread have any thoughts on the matter?

Thanks.

ted

Petz,
Whats the big deal ? The capital gain info can be found by you or any financial analyst in a minute.

The Intel capital gain situation is unique, so the rules are not defined. Arnt you making a mountain out of a mole hill ?
