Lost in the JDSU news is some pretty good news for TYCO.

Of course, if they are building a worldwide fiber optics network, who are they going to get the components from? JDSU wins again!

Big earnings period now. Hope you're all playing the winners. I like techs here though not the high-fliers as much (when do I ever?) as the highest quality dogs beaten down for unfundamental reasons.

Still can't find many as good as BEBE, ANF and UIS, but I'm now thinking CHRT, BLS, MMG, IM and IBI as well. Then ATHM, HSAC, AOL, LU, MXTR (earnings next Tues), IMRS, EGRP (earnings weds) and URBN . Will buy any of these on a dip and some of them where they are now. I highly advise you all to get into BEBE before earning Thursday though do your own DD. UIS earnings tomorrow so too late. ANG Feb. 15. KMAG with earnings next Thursday might be a quick double considering the way the entire computer/chip manufacturing sector is taking off. Hope I can buy back IBm and CPQ at slightly lower prices as I sold Friday. DOn't chase the chips stocks. Look for the growth sectors like quality tech and retail which are still greatly undervalued. Then just hold those suckers.

My favorites I am not selling for months, until ai feel a peak. I made the mistake too many times of picking the best beaten-dog winner then selling after a 30% profit. No more into early spring at least. This market is still on the move and investments are still distributed quite unevenly. The broadening out and renewed optimism will spread the wealth to the most deserving. All you need is cash and a little patience.
