Ten & Intel Investors - Yet ANOTHER Company Announces IA 64 support for their Business Software !!

This time it is ENTRUST Technologies.

"Secure transactions are the heart of e-business. Intel is working with industry leaders, like Entrust Technologies, to reach our vision of a billion trusted, connected computers," said Mike Fister, vice president and general manager of the Enterprise Server Group, Intel Corporation. "Based on the IA-64 architecture, the Intel(r) Itanium(tm) processor is designed to deliver an immediate performance benefit for intensive security applications. In the evolving e-business environment, security applications become increasingly more important." The first IA-64 processor, the Intel Itanium processor, is scheduled for production in mid-2000.

Every day that goes by, there are more and more companies commiting to the IA64/ITanium architecture !

The performance of the demo IA64 sample systems must be "encouraging" to entice all these companies to PUBLICLY announce support for the IA64/ITanium platform.

Entrust Technologies Announces Support for Intel's IA-64 Products

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 17, 2000-- ENTU(NASDAQ:ENTU) RSA Security Conference

Entrust(r) Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:ENTU), the global leader in solutions that bring trust to e-business, today announced its support for Intel(r) Corporation's (Nasdaq: INTC) plans to extend its reach into the highest level of computing by enabling their software on the upcoming Intel 64-bit computing architecture (IA-64) servers and workstations.

The growth of e-business infrastructures is driving the adoption, incorporation and acceleration of enhanced network security, as well as high-end systems capable of processing huge amounts of data while maintaining strong security.

"Entrust fully supports Intel's vision to meet this 'high-end computing challenge' by incorporating IA-64 technology designed to address the explosion of digital information and other demands the Internet economy is placing on e-businesses," said John Ryan, president and CEO, Entrust Technologies. "We've been working closely with Intel to deliver security solutions across their software and hardware solutions, and we look forward to future collaborative projects."

In addition to server activities, Entrust and Intel have been collaborating on network development efforts since mid 1999. This collaboration will enable Intel security software to interface with Entrust's API and to utilize their certificates for authentication to make Intel's adapters Entrust-Ready(tm). As a result of this collaboration, an Intel network adapter card could ease the implementation of Entrust's PKI software. In the future, Intel plans to distribute Entrust's client software with Intel's new family of network security-enabled adapters.
