then play to what you have.. if dan was your quarterback and you wanted to run, how about having the back run to the quarterback, 29 other teams do that,how about making that change to your system... jimmy's failures was not that he was not a great coach,but the fact that he was going to win his way or no way,and at the end his style caused him to win no way.. instead of having a 38 yr old quarterback run 7 yds to hand the ball off,how about having the back come and get the ball..these were really simple changes that any other coach except for a ego maniac head game guy would make...ADAPT- because everything in jimmy's world dealt with physchology of the mind,he physched himself out most of the time,the only one to blame for his failures was jimmy..remember danny did not play danny football,his was jimmys way or the highway, and this morning we know the first guy that had to take the highway.. you know the third down and three,we are still going to run for a first down man,this is why mare set the record...9 of his field goals were directly related to 3rd down and 4 or less failures to make first downs that were direct results of trying to run for it..even the jet game after the fumble up 3-0..from the 15 yd line 3 rd and 4 we run with stanley pritchard,we do not even have a running back healthy and he insist on still running on a big down...the offense did not wear down the defense the play calling of the offense did.. if the only pass play you ever run is a 12 and out to tony martin,if i do not pick off the first couple of time,trust me even my 36 year old body would have a pick for a t.d before the day was over,that offense was so simple that my high school football team has more offensive responsiblities.. as someone who watched dolphin football for 30 years and watch them practice,this was 4 years of he**,and no it will not change drastically,but dave will adapt more to the situations that present themselves..when danny was at his best,the leading receivers on the team were tony nathan,terry kirby ,so throwing the ball down the field was not even the case...
