Well, the revolutionary situation has two large dangers: one, that fanaticism, as a badge of honor, will escalate, and therefore that those insufficiently violent in their passions will stand accused before the hysterical, and fall under the blade; or that personal ambition will corrupt the process, and make it expedient to deal with rivals through fabricated charges. Let us hope, come the revolution, that one of these things befalls Mr. Conrad, so that he can share with us the joys of the guillotine......
