Speaking of stocks splitting:

From my limited research, I've discovered that WalMart has had NINE 2-for-1 splits since 1975.

That means that 100 shares bought then have turned into 51,400 shares worth $3.2 million today.

Or, 10 shared bought then would be worth $320,000.

Roger,

I've got the Wal-Mart newsletter sitting in front of me which tracks that sort of thing. Here's what it says:

100 shares of Wal-Mart purchased in the IPO back in 1970 for $16.50 a share (that's a total cost of $1650) is worth over $18 Million today!

That's something to think about if one is trading in and out of stocks searching the eternal rainbow.....
