In reference to your job posting from MCOM.

When Sprint becomes part of WCOM, they will already have an
installed broadband system. IS-95 can provide data access now
and the speed is increasing.
Please read the FCC regulations for ISM band operation. The
transmitter does hop for 902-928 MHz, but it is only using
250 KHz at a time. It would also be wise to study cellular system
operation. MCOM's ricochet system is now running with a very
low number of users, as it changes to a saturated system,
performance may degrade. Observe the slow rumble of discontent
from ATT wireless users in NYC and elsewhere.
HDR is coming, fast. It will be active in Korea first, then Japan.
Then Sprint and others will simply plug the new cards into their
base stations and MCOM is toast.
From PLRS to JTIDS to Proxim to MCOM, frequency hopping is always a loser to direct sequence.
