Eicon Technology Reports Record Sales for Fiscal 2000
Second Quarter
FEBRUARY 3, 2000
MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA--Eicon Technology announced today that
sales for its second quarter, ended December 31, 1999 increased by
27 % over last year to $55 million. Net income amounted to
$824,000 or $0.02 per share for the quarter, in line with Eicon's
preliminary announced results, compared to $2.5 million or $0.08 a
share for the same period last year.

Strong sales growth was fuelled by European DIVA ISDN product
sales, which totalled $37.8 million, a 60 % increase over last
year and up 43 % sequentially, representing 69 % of total second
quarter sales. WAN products sales amounted to $14.2 million, down
2 % from the same period last year.

"The strength of our DIVA ISDN sales pushed total sales to a new
record level," said Peter Brojde, President and CEO of Eicon
Technology. "In spite of lower than anticipated earnings, we are
confident that Eicon's strong positioning in the ISDN market and
its entry into the DSL market will allow it to benefit from the
tremendous demand for fast and secure Internet access. Teaming up
with industry leading companies such as Alcatel and SSH
Communications further enhances our ADSL capabilities."
