Cerebral edema is common at 8000 meters. A very mild case will effect one's judgement, a severe case, and it can be sudden, will kill you. Climbers will therefore describe events very differently. I was wondering at what altitude KIS was living? <VBG>

Scott Fisher was exhausted before he ever reached base camp that year. He had been traveling all over the world constantly, trying to get clients for his expedition co, and his liver problem was causing him seizures almost daily. His own assistant conveyed this. It is no wonder he died. Hall's death was lack of adherence to his own rules. Never stay too long at the top. Maybe a lesson for investing here, too.
