Softbank Commerce, VerticalNet to set up JV in Feb

TOKYO, Jan 17 (Reuters) - Softbank Commerce Corp, a
subsidiary of giant Japanese Internet Investor Softbank Corp
<9984.T>, said on Monday it and VerticalNet Inc of the
United States will set up a joint venture in February.
The new company, "VerticalNet Japan Corp," will be
capitalised at 400 million yen and provide business-to-business
electronic commerce services.
Softbank Commerce will own 60 percent of the venture, while
the remaining 40 percent will be taken by VerticalNet, which
promotes Internet communities in specialised business areas in
the United States.
