Uh .. that's why they're "whisper numbers". They have no substance to them, they are derived from what's heard around the street, and on here. It's no wonder three different sites have three different numbers.

As for earnings .. Yahoo has tumbled from 500 down to 340 supposedly because of its "questionable valuations". Yahoo does have positive earnings .. but its PE is still 1700. People are actually starting to wonder whether or not it's "worth it". I think the "spending spree" business model is falling out of favor with the market, at least with regards to internet portals and such.

Go2Net has plenty of room to grow, so I'm all for acquisition acquisition acquisition. But let's not forget about making money. Having a very profitable business model attracts the street's attention like nothing else - it shows that the CEO knows how to do more than just burn cash.

Even so .. I'm actually praying GNET doesn't drop tomorrow. What's our "after-earnings" price history? For some reason I think it is downward movement despite better-than-expected news (except last quarter i think we did real well) Is there a website that keeps track of these patterns on a per-stock basis?
