Brian, you are wise to unload margin debt at a time like this. I have personal experience of the folly of being on margin after a huge run-up.

Brian, I'd do it soon, and maybe not announce it until afterwards. Know what I mean?

I am net short for the first time in my life. Have been for about 10 days and its working very well, mostly because of Yhoo and Aol getting killed.

Off topic: can I interest any of you old timers here in taking a look at Waste Management(wmi) as a non tech value play? I really want to know what someone else thinks. I can't stomach the techs at these prices. I can't believe the extremes that have occurred. wmi otoh is at about 9x oe. 'Course there is always a reason: funny bookkeeping leading to massive charges, debt overhang from acquisitions, the ceo having brain cancer, slowing rev growth. Still, oe can run about 2 bucks a year. A bounce to 40 is inevitable, the question is when.
