Thanks South... So execution would be the only factor to put VRTS 'on top' in the NAS world (i.e. the open standard). Sounds King like. Sometimes the line between king and gorilla get so gray... With the QCOM's of the world control of the technology is easy to see. But when we get to the realm of software (I own Siebel) and markets such as VRTS and JDSU ... boy... the lines get blurry... i.e. When does control of the market/infrastructure/pipeline equal gorilla status? Especially blurry when we are dealing with 'open' standards and 'interchangeable' components (e.g. fiber optic suppliers like JDSU).

I guess sometimes you just go 'with your gut'. Example I bought a truck load of OCLI to get at JDSU months ago. Not knowing exactly 'what' JDSU was but simply recognizing a monster located at 'ground zero' of the communications revolution. Maybe we need a hybrid animal... a cross between a gorilla and a king.

Not to kick Moore but it seems to me that selection of market to invest in and THEN the gorilla/king candidate(s) is the way to go. Gorilla in a lousy market (e.g. Peoplesoft) isn't very profitable.
