The last two time I have gotten burned was with CSCO and INTC..the behavior of the stock a few days before the report made you feel the numbers would not be that great and on both occasions I got burned for selling..

Dear Tecinvestor: Personally, I see no benefit at this point for AOL to massage the numbers in any way. If anything they probably would be conservative. The deal is already set so no need to push up AOL stock and there is so much confusion in the investment community over this merger that nothing but ACTION will likely cure it. Were I them, I would be starting RIGHT now to lay the groundwork to have FANTASTIC numbers AFTER the merger is effected. Things like writing down all kinds of soft costs on both sides of the merger, closing out weak businesses etc etc. JDN
