John, re IBM, IBM's growth engine over the last few years has been services. It will be interesting to see if some of that growth had been
positively affected by Y2K, and if their service earnings growth will decline now that Y2K is behind us.


Agreed, their service divisions are very powerful for them in terms of revenues and profits. Re big iron, they also have said that sales of those will also pick up again with Y2K FUD behind. Just an aside, IBM's big iron was and is probably more Y2K bulletproof than any other big iron. Did the analysts really think they wouldn't put top priority on that?
