G'day all - hi mact, there wasn't a whole lot of details, but at 1st, I thought existing shareholders wouldn't get any Venture tracking stock, but I read somewhere about CDO mgt did mention giving her existing shareholders a piece of the action. Technically, she could give them out as stock dividend. Ultimately, it depends on the final arrangement(s), i.e., partial vs total spinoff and spinoff vs tracking. Right now, Venture probably comes before PRISM. And when you compare Venture with CMGI, ICGE and SFE, CDO is a steal, spinoff or no spinoff [see also an article in the current Kiplinger magazine.

best, Bosco

mact,

Kiplinger's says, "Comdisco is issuing a tracking stock for its venture capital business, most of which will be distributed to Comdisco shareholders and the rest sold to the public."

The tracking stock I believe is still to be voted on January 25 at the shareholders meeting.

According to Kiplinger's, Comdisco's CFO says CDO has "roughly 70 companies that are public." Another 360 companies are in various stages of development, with 15 expected to go public in the first three months of this year.

If this company continues to do as it says, keeps paying dividends, keeps buying back its stock (21% over the past five years), then the upside potential has not yet begun, IMO.

Good Luck to all.
