Well, Lee...disagreeing with you is ALWAYS a pleasurable experience...

Actually, going back to 1998....Dell, in its analyst meetings, often defended the notion that Dell was "undervalued" vs. S&P 500 (and, I believe, other growth stocks)..this was done with regularity during the 1st half of 1998...Dell quit doing this sometime in 2nd half 1998..as far as I can tell...

Um, if is stock is not clearly undervalued...I would agree with you...management should generally say nothing, and let the flat period run its course...however, I believe if a very good growth company is dead in its tracks, and several deep-seated misconceptions abound...the company should do its best to clear up (any misconceptions)...Cisco does this, EMC does this....I kindof like how those stocks have performed <G>

Ballmer, I believe, spoke about the market in general, and not Microsoft's specific stock price, although I could be in error...in any event, he was talking about over-valuation <G> not under-valuation...

Looks like all the king's horses and all the king's men will not be able to put Rocker together again...
