Yup, my favorite example of this kind of confusion is the trucking company called (I think) Intrenet, whose stock goes up anytime dot-com stocks are hot. Another good one is some obscure real estate company that has the symbol TCI. :-)

But I don't think there's any evidence of NTAP-NSOL confusion in the past; why now? Also, NTAP actually went up more (on % basis) than NSOL today.

Heard on Bloomberg radio that an upside surprise is likely now regarding NTAP's earnings as was given as the reason for the rise in the shares today. Look for estimates to be moved upward. Sorry but cant remember the name of the firm that came out with the report. Was on hold with Waterhouse when I heard this news...
