Convergence refers to the mixing of voice and data. The photonic part means they are doing it with light. As a result, the term actually only applies to the system manufacturers.

PIR and TEK are mistakes on the list I think. They are not optical companies as far as I know.

Hi Dorothy,

There was a link posted some time back to a publication called " Converge " or" Convergence" that was basically an overview of companies active in the photonic sector. I'll try to find it.

These are the publicly traded companies I pulled out of that list. Nothing other than a watchlist for trading possible break outs.

PIR is supposed to be Pirelli, and TEK was on the list as a Photonic player, although it may just be a small portion of their overall business.
