MSFT conference call

Beneath all the usual cautionary guidance ("difficult comparisons", etc.) it is impossible to come away from the Q2 conference call and not realize that MSFT is incredibly pumped about Windows 2000. I cannot recall the company ever being as upbeat about a product launch, including Windows 95. Win2K won't have the Rolling Stones, but it's very clear that the sounds shareholders will be hearing over the next few quarters will be ringing cash registers.

This rising tide will buoy the entire PC industry. Be long "old tech" and smile come year end.
