IF, BIG IF, the courts were to find in Rambus favor, and IF their patents were wide enough to limit competition, it could be very interesting.

This particular suit sounds somewhat questionable but in the not so distant future I expect RMBS to go aggressively after any memory type that is not RDRAM in an effort to collect royalties.

Like it or not, RMBS owns substantial IP in this area and will do whatever they need to get some money out of it.
