I remember Nicholas Negroponte of MIT's Media Lab lecturing on internet-connected devices about a year ago and the scenario you are describing is right on. Apparently substrates are being developed that would coat thin flexible (possibly paper) pages that would essentially make them refreshable screens. Imagine casually perusing your (CDMA wireless) newspaper in the park and having the financial section provide you real time quotes of your favorite gorillas. Heck maybe you could click on GMST and double up. Heck maybe GMST would get a royalty on your transaction.
