What's all this stuff I'm hearing on the radio about a comparison to 1929? Being a contrarian (somewhat), I'd call this a buying opportunity.....but that would normally happen while things are tanking in an ungodly way..not while all the indexes are hitting new highs. It seems that the only ones screaming "crash" are the fundamentalists...and a few technicians. Joe 6 pack seems oblivious to the overvaluations in stock prices and rising interest rates (or at least doesn't seem to care) and I guess we will have to see if he will step in and buy the dip if it is extreme...and will he have enough cash to buoy the market for awhile. I am uncertain as to the short term direction of these markets. The doom and gloom has been around soooooooo long that it is almost like the story of the boy who cried wolf, yet is does now, and has had for some time a very valid argument. Tell me Bill, what is different this time than all the other times when interest rates were rising, stocks were overvalued hitting new highs, oil prices were rising , and J6P was driving his favorite stocks 20 or 30 points per day in whichever direction he desired?
