Your are too analytical in your thinking about TA, it's much simpler then you make it out. I for one feel if one makes it too complicated TA will not work. JM at times does this, but that is difference of how we both go about it. To each his own. Also, News changes the picture all the time, so TA works as long current short term story is constant. For example, Yesterday QCOM bounced of it's 25 day very lightly, if we were not so close to earnings, I would say that we are about to move right though that line and a down trend has been established. When JM said that he saw trouble in getting past the old high, I would have to agree, that spike up has ruin the support behind QCOM and used up a lot of the buyer power that was out there, one can see these things by looking at the relative vol. and how far the stock moved in a such a short time. One has to remember that trading patterns do happen, and others are looking at them.
