Utilicom Inc. Files IPO For $50 Million Of Common Shares

WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- Utilicom Inc. filed for an initial public offering Tuesday of $50 million of common shares.

Based in Mt. Laurel, N.J., the company, a unit of Comverse Technology Inc. (CMVT), provides mission-critical network signaling software for wireless, wireline and Internet communications services.

In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said that proceeds from the offering will be used to repay bank debt, finance continued growth of the company's business and for other general purposes.

Lehman Brothers, Chase H&Q, U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray and Fidelity Capital Market will underwrite the offering.
