The quarterly report at least was heading in the right direction. Losses from services were cut by two-thirds, and a one-time gain from the sale of Surf Watch technology put the company in the black. In what might be a related news event, I noticed that Geoworks is claiming patent rights on a key WAP patent. It sounds to me as though Geoworks is putting firms such as Phone.Com on notice, but since the patent is more recent than the Prism technology that SPYG uses, I wonder if SPYG has proprietary technology that is not affected by this patent. Anyone have any ideas?
