AlibiDan - Re: "INTEL'S GOOSE IS COOKED!"

I thought the AthWiper already cooked the Intel goose.

Rambus is a unique company.

They are given very little credit for a major accomplishment. That little company showed 9 years ago that it was possible to make major speed advancements in DRAMS when ALL THE EXISTING DRAM companies were fat, dumb and happy making nothing but 60 ns DRAMS - a speed that they were STUCK at for almost 10 years !

From what I gather, the Japanese DRAM companies were thoroughly embarrassed by this little pip-squeak AMERICAN COMPANY coming up with very innovative solutions for making fast DRAMS. Japanese companies don't like to lose face !

I suppose that is why Samsung - a Korean company - took the lead with RAMBUS.
