When God says that if our ways please Him he we cause our enemies to be at peace with us... it is not ABSOLUTE.. In that if your enemies are not at peace with you then you must be displeasing to God... Or if your not being blessed financially then you must not be giving enough.. Or here is a heavy one.. if you are barren and without Children then God is not rewarding you.. Psalms 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. I know that GOD has REWARDED me with SEVEN CHILDREN.. they are a blessing and a reward for the faithfulness He has caused me to have in spite of my sinful self !!! It does not mean that everyone who has 7 children are being rewarded and their children may even be to them a curse and evil sons. Nor because someone is gaining riches in this world can we assume they are tithing. Nor should we believe that because a man's enemies have burned him at the stake or chopped off his head even as John the Baptist that they were not pleasing to God. That is what I am trying to point out.... If something BAD happens to you Chris your friends will say you are going through a trial while your enemies will say you are being judged :-} God has stated certain GERNERAL PRINCIPLES that hold true MOST of the time but not without exceptions. We must base our relationship with God on His promises and instructions.. We must know we are His because we see His spirit working within us and know for certain that that is a sure evidence that He has saved and will save us. After that we follow the "simple" precepts He has put forth and trust Him to Bless us. If we are burned at the stake we know that He has a greater reward in store... If we suffer need though we tithe ... we know that He is teaching us contentment.. If He does not grant to us children though we may mourn this above many things yet we must trust and say.. God does All things VERY good and HIS DESIRE is toward US ! Song of Solomon 7:10 I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me. God Bless off to a needed sleep.
