The following post should probably be a violation of the Terms of Use ~ but it's not. I dreamed that I was at a legal seminar on discovery techniques, being taught by the judges and law clerks at federal court, and they were handing out copies of real discovery from real cases as examples of what NOT to do. My imagination supplied recollections of things I'd read over the years that were really egregious, like answers to interrogatories that were essentially half a page of objections and compendia of blow-hardia. Some big downtown firms will have responses that are obviously the aggregate of several different layers of lawyers, from law clerk to associate to partner, all chiming in something shitty, seriatim. It was pretty funny, actually. I woke up in a good mood.

I think I am regaining my old personality, the one I lost when I was sick for such a long time. It's probably not a better thing for mankind, but it serves its purpose, a full metal jacket.
