It's a nice story.... although I don't think it has much to do with "monarchy" in the way you hinted at. Rather I view it as the last avatar of a centuries-old fairy tale --remember the movie The Man Who Would Be King starring Sean Connery? Or Oliver Stone's Little Buddha about an American youngster believed to be the next Dalai Lama?

It surely is one of the most appealing Western fantasy: Joe-Six-Pack trekking in some wild, remote terra incognita, only to stumble across some weird, undiscovered primitive tribe whose rainmakers were long waiting for the "Messiah".... Of course, the tribe's riches are breathtaking: precious gems, gold, exquisite spices, curvaceous girls, and love potions..... As the old saying goes: To be first in the cowtown is better than last in Rome.... Or is it the other way around?

Gus.
