In my latest call to Barb Henderson at PFG I was able to obtain the following information.

During PFGs first visit of the Luicho property, they took a number of grab samples and performed bottle roll testing (6 screen mesh, approximately 1cm chunk samples). Recovery rates averaged 70-75%.

For comparison purposes, I asked her to contrast the bottle roll tests taken from Diablillos which indicated a high recovery rate, yet proved later to not be easily leachable.

She responded by saying that the metallurgy was quite different on the two properties. The gold at Occulto (Diablillos) is encapsulated (coated) which makes it difficult to leach whereas Luicho mineralization is showing as free-gold (sitting in open spaces along the quartz planes). The sandstone (over 300 meters) is almost all made up of this quartz.

Additionally she stated that cyanide testing was performed against a sampling of the first 400 samples taken on the property. The results were quite high indicating the samples to be easily leachible (70-75% recovery).

Over the next couple of months, bulk samples will be taken from a number of tunnels in the central zone. There are about a dozen accessible tunnels which were dug by a French company in the 1950s. It appears a small mill also existed on the site.

Barb expects there will be at least another 2,500 samples taken before drilling commences at Luicho.

Regarding the NSR and the 2.5% - 3.5% variance on the POG for the first million ozs this is the ratio:
<$300=2.5% $300-$350=3% >$350 = 3.5%

As I mentioned in a previous post, Tom Shrake has been asked to speak at a "not open to the public" meeting given by Deutschbank in late Jan and another given by Nesbitt, the end of Feb in Tampa.

I asked about another tradeshow happening in Vancouver Jan 23-24 that did not show PFG as attending. cambridgeconferences.com Barb said she would be attending as a visitor but that PFG did not have a booth. She indicated there are several speakers at the Cambridgehouse conference that are following / recommending Pacific Rim, including John Kaiser, Bob Bishop and David Coffin from the Hard Rock Analyst but she did not know if they would be speaking about PFG.

I asked about Barrick and was informed there was no news as yet.

She expects the next press release regarding the property should be in mid February.

They might have the money to drill, however, it is smart to finance before you drill, especially in this market.

Talking about dilution, it is a fact of life in the Junior market. To justify the purchase price, a lot drilling has to be perform along with metallurgy etc. Where the dilution will come in is when PFG has to issue shares to pay off the owner.

I think it's a good to finance. 2 million shares at this price, you can do a lot of work. I am sure CMS knows what she is doing.
