CrossMatch is not a threat... yet.

The specifications read as follows:

Specifications Resolution
500 dpi ñ 3 pixels in X and Y axis,

Upgradeable to 1000 dpi

Although CrossMatch has been trumpeting that they are the only company to get Appendix F certification (1000dpi resolution) for their livescanner, they realize that price is more important than additional resolution - something that Randy has been saying for a long time. That is why they offer the 1000dpi resolution as an upgrade, because the machine would cost too much otherwise.

I don't think we need to worry about CrossMatch until they announce competitive pricing, which they don't have, or they would have been trumpeting lower selling prices instead of lower operating costs and nonstandard features.

I think IDX can add a drinking fountain to the TP-600, but it will cost more.
