Speaking of WM, the latest Los Angeles Business Journal has a story:

"Service Complaints Bedevil Washington Mutual Bank"

Talks about how WM bought 3 So Cal thrifts and closed 40 LA County branches of one of them (closed 107 branches in all), leading to long lines. Yet customers are signing up for the no-fee checking, adding nearly 10,000 accounts in So Cal alone in November.
